A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE CHOCTAW CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL LADY WARRIORS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING 1998-1999 SEASON AND FOR WINNING THE STATE 2A CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the Choctaw Central High School Lady Warriors Basketball Team completed the 1998-1999 season with an outstanding 37-1 record, winning the State 2A Championship; and

WHEREAS, throughout the Lady Warriors' season, they won several tournaments, including the Grazier-Yarborough Invitational Tournament, the Philadelphia Invitational Tournament, the Neshoba Central Invitational Tournament, the Division 5 Class 2A Tournament, South Mississippi State 2A Tournament and the State 2A Tournament Championship; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Warriors have been superbly coached and inspired by Coach Willis Tullos, who has broadened the players knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

WHEREAS, many individual honors have been bestowed upon the players, including: the naming of Johnita Conrad to the All-State, All-South Mississippi and All-District Teams; the selection of Randi Williams to the All-State, All-South Mississippi and All-District Teams; the naming of Marie Wilson to the All-State, All-South Mississippi and All-District Teams; the selection of Lahoma Conrad to the All-District Team; and the naming of Melinda Ben to the All-South Mississippi Team; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Warriors have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitude reflect great credit upon the individual players and their coach and bring honor to Choctaw Central High School; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the young people of our state, who are its future:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Choctaw Central High School Lady Warriors Basketball Team and Coach Willis Tullos for their outstanding 1998-1999 season, for winning the State 2A Championship and for displaying tireless devotion to their athletic endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished Choctaw Central High School, Coach Willis Tullos and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
